Aahhh, yes. Homemade pickles. A food that is a million times better made at home instead of store bought. I grew some delicious cucumbers hydroponically in my garden. I used Boston pickling cucumbers. They grew prolifically for a few weeks, and then all of a sudden, they decided to die. In the end, there was nothing I could do. No amount of adding additional nutrients, or whispering at sweet nothings to my cukes while they slept in my garden at night could revive the cucumbers.
However, I didn’t let that deter me. I decided to turn my cucumbers into delicious pickles. I did this once before in South Korea. These ones, however, turned out even better than the ones I grew in South Korea. They were a little bit spicier, and I think the addition of homegrown dill from my garden really brought these ones over the top.
I will say this though, they do pack a decent punch when it comes to spice. There a perfect level of heat for me, but I could see them being too spicy for some people.
